Siskind’s Vermont 148 is a difficult image to analyze, as there is nothing explicitly recognizable seen. Most notably are his shades of grey and the rough grainy texture, seen clearest in the lighter areas of the image. It is a Gelatin silver print he produced in 1987. I believe that the image may show a roughly paved road and the black lines might be painted areas or sealed cracks on the pavement. This image is beautiful in it’s abstraction and I think it is absolutely up for interpretation. The lines and the mystery behind it all stir feelings of disorder. I also believe the image to be in black and white due to the absolute absence of any shade of color.

You can also describe the curvature of the black lines and general direction (horizontal, diagonal or vertical). Otherwise, this is a good description of the textures and their relationships.
