Ansel Adams black and white image is of sand dunes in California. This photograph has dynamic geometry. The photograph is also not centered and the majority of the subject matter, the dunes, are in the foreground of the photo. Hardly any of the sky is showing and is dark. The dunes in the foreground of the image slant down at the top where they meet with the dunes in the background. The image was taken at an upward angle following the dunes and the lines formed in the dunes from the wind. The front and middle of the image are the most focused while the background of the image becomes a bit less focused. The lighting is natural sunlight and is coming from the right side, shown by the shadows in the dunes. The ridges of the dunes are highlighted.

Good description of the sky, the lines, ridges and the upward angle.
