Mitra Tabrizian is well-known for underlining the lifestyle of Iranians in opposition to the “ironic” billboard placed in the photo. As the article suggests, there is no sign of order. The subjects or the content of the image are the people and Tabrizian got them at an instance where they were all facing different directions which ultimately adds to the suspenseful message embedded in the photograph. In the foreground, she has details such as the buildings and billboard but the rest of the background entails desolation. The panoramic view allowed Tabrizian to capture a wide scope, emphasizing the importance of depth in composition. I also notice a pattern when I look at this photograph and that pattern is the arbitrary placement of the people in the image. This pattern adds to the progressive rhythm of the image, making it obvious how important it is to include composition in photography.

I like your observations of the apparent disorder in the directions people are walking in this panorama. Yet they are frozen in a semi-circle which has a temporary order to it. That may be the pattern you are referring to.
