This photograph by Robert Frank has many strengths based on lighting and composition. It is interesting how the lighting comes from the back of the picture and moves forward, adding to the ominous effect of the photo. I think the composition is very interesting as there are a lot of details as your eyes go back in the photo. The use of lines helps to lengthen the photograph and leads you to several focal points. My favorite part of this photo is the shadow of the walking man.

Perspective seems to concentrate the lights in the distance making it seem as though the light comes from the back as you note. The emphasis on the reflective letters spelling the word “Look” is also a strong light element in the foreground.
