This piece shows an upward angle from the city into the sky. There are two buildings within the picture. The left building takes up the majority of the piece, as it is closest to the photographer. Another building is on the right and further away. It is darker contrasting the rest of the objects in the piece. There are windows on the buildings that are bright white, which are emphasized by the darkness of each building. A “one way” sign is coming out of the bottom of the photo. The edges of the buildings create linear patterns towards the focus of the picture. A line of light shoots up from behind the “one way” sign towards the sky. At the end of the linear light there is a circle, or burst of light. This light contrasts the rest of the photo because of its brightness.
I chose this picture because I like the composition of shapes and lines to form the picture. The buildings create a sense of direction, in where your eyes should be drawn to. The beam of light caught my attention as well.
