Dmitri Baltermant’s photograph contains two frames, the mannequins of the married couple and the elderly woman outside of the store staring at them longingly. Through positioning, the photographer was able to easy portray the elderly woman on the right frame as the focus of that section despite the numerous other people present in the foreground. I chose this photo because I enjoy the photographers choice to photograph the mannequins from the side of the store looking out into the street and behind the thin curtain. This creates an interesting glow around them. Likewise, the elderly observing them is clearly visible, unobscured by the curtain which could be interpreted as her longingly reminiscing on a past that is out of reach.

Good interpretation of the two framed elements of the shot along with an analysis of the focus used.
