Book Idea

There are a lot of examples in the three links that will help inspire the photographs for my book. I will take inspiration from both Then They Came for Me and The Decisive Moment. There are many great examples of street photography, featuring people which is similar to my idea for my book, which will be street photography as well focusing on my nephew looking at/interacting with the murals of Philadelphia

I like this image because with the angle, you can see the face of the man who is closest to the frame but you can also see the rest of the train continuing in the background. I think this angle with my nephew closest to me and an interesting angle with the mural behind him would make a great photograph!
Similarly to the last image, I think a photograph like this, with a mural on the wall and my nephew in the distance either looking at me or examining the mural would be very strong!
For images only including the art and not my nephew, I think how this image is edited is beautiful. The contrast between the wall and the poster brings all of the viewers attention to the detailing/words of the poster. I think how this is edited is something that would work well with a larger scale mural.

  1. Make sure you take some shots without your nephew and some with him along with a variety of camera angles for each mural. Check with Christine Kreschollek about the availability of a 28-135 mm lens to use as an option.
