Wang Qingsong was apart and lived through the Cultural Revolution in china and what makes this photo very interesting is that all of these hand drawn pictures of memories from this movement which is over 600 were put on a wall in Beijing. This photo is basically a photo of his memories and brought back from his mind. These handmade photos were not exactly the same from the Revolution but were inspired and set the stage for this.
