I shot at Main Street in Exton, Pennsylvania. It contains multiple strip malls in one place, from restaurants to places for clothing. Although, no one is seen in the street because of Covid-19. Some of the restaurants and stores are not even open. My approach was to capture the emptiness of this strip mall for shots “Empty Block” and “Empty Walk”. Usually it is very busy, long waits in order to eat at certain restaurants and lines out the door because of clothing sales. I shot during mid-day, which is prime time to shop and get a bite to eat, and yet no one can be seen in two of my shots. Masks are dropped and left on the sides of the road, which I captured in the first photo captioned “Covid Mask”. “Umbrella Woman” shows an isolated woman walking her dog in the middle of an alley. The rain and saturated bricks emphasize the dull and drab days that Covid-19 has brought.

I really like the “Covid Mask” photo. It really encaptures the time of the pandemic with its short depth of field and emptiness. I thought that colorizing of the mask was a good touch.
The theme of covid leading to abandoned streets is very clear through your images I think you conveyed that message effectively.
The mask and the umbrella make a strong pair – with the echoed color, viewpoint and solitude.
