I am so glad we finally get to look at photos on the motion of light in water. I spent a lot of time capturing the way light moves on water because it was so intriguing to me. I figured I might as well take some photos of it because before I saw this slideshow, I didn’t know of anybody who particular focused on the motion of light in water. In this image specifically, I love the color that pops out. Assuming that it is merely edited in, it looked as though some sort of light fixture painted on the surface of the water. Believe it or not, the sun paints on the surface of water with light all the time. I have included an image that depicts this very well. To compare my image to George’s image, this seems a little in motion, whereas mine is clearly completely in motion, because you can’t normally see the way light can draw on the surface of the water with the naked eye. This image looks like it is slightly in motion only because if it was in more motion, the water line would be hard to see against the sand since the waves would constantly crash into it. Here is my image, that took about a 6 second shutter speed and a neutral density filter to capture:

Nice to see your work too with this. What made you select the specific piece you found in the Lehigh collection?
