I chose this image to be particularly effective in capturing the look of miniaturized photography. The photograph depicts a street that looks to be in a city. The front foreground is blurred but you can see some taxis and American flags hanging from the building. Then on the right hand side, there is a small part of the building showing which looks to be an apartment complex of some sort typical for cities. Then in the middle of the photograph, there is a huge puff of smoke and fire coming from the building. You can see more cars, fire trucks, police, ambulances and people all around. There are firefighters entering the building and seen in the street conversing. Everything in the image is a miniature object made to look real in appearance and position. The building, cars, people, and fire are all created in a smaller scaled down version by the artist. He is taking his own experience of this scene and mirroring it with scaled down objects. He then uses photoshop to add further elements to make it seem so real. The way in which the composition is set makes it also look very realistic. It is slightly grainy and taken at an angle kind of far looking from above and straight on. This photograph caught my eye because it legitimately looks like a real fire occurring in the streets of New York. I could imagine seeing this on the news or in a newspaper. Everything about it looks real and it just goes to show how creative and fascinating photography can be when there are other elements involved.

This was shot from the roof of 104 5th avenue. It is a fake miniature taken with a tilt shift.
