I’m impressed by the progression of light throughout the book that gives the beginning to the ending of a day at Coney Island. The shots you have included here represent a solid cross-section and show the isolation of the off-season and Covid combined.
I think your collection of images is great! The contrast created by the somewhat run-down Coney Island against the bright blue sky is beautiful. My favorite photographs are of the rollercoaster. It is an interesting view of the rollercoaster and again, the contrast of the white rollercoaster against the blue sky works really well.
I REALLY like what you did here. I think its so interesting what Coney Island looks with such little people and activity happening. My favorites are of the old looking neon signs like the Cyclone cafe and the Nathans hot dog place. Also the characters of who you find at Coney Island right now really match the aesthetic of the wooden, non running rollercoaster. I think your angles and individual compositions were best of the non animate objects and I thoroughly enjoyed your book.
I really like these photos! I especially like the ones in the beginning of the book that are shot through the fences. I think that adds to the theme of “Coney Island in the off season” really well. I also really like all the colors in these photos they are really bright and really pleasing to look at!
