I took photographs of my roommates and our apartment. We like to call our lifestyle ‘tasteful chaos’ and I think I’ve captured the reality of our lives in this book. It freezes our moment in time and shows the truth. I think that it really allowed me to experiment with portraiture as I find it fascinating how someone can really show themselves through their space. I intentionally paired the individual spaces with portraits of a specific person as a comparison almost of each person’s identities. The shared spaces are only with other shared spaces. I really enjoy how this book has turned out and am so glad to have it to remember this year by.
Thee portrait shots are well done with good exposures. A good next step in your artistic development would be studio portraiture. Also one thing to watch out for in interior shots is blown out highlights in windows.
I love the details in some of your shots and the whole concept. The title really gives the viewer a sense of what the book holds. The color pink shines through in a lot of the shots. The disco ball and lights hung up add a cool affect to the shots too.
I love the theme of your book. The color and saturation of the photos you chosen really match your title of the book. I personally like the photos of the photo wall a lot.
You captured your friends and your living space in a thoughtful way. My favorite pages are the ones with the polaroids on the wall, the two images side by side make for a really engaging page and it works really well.
