James Casabere uses miniatures to portray intricate architecture that reflects many different types of structures. My favorite of his works is the one I selected below, called Landscape with Houses. I like this piece because it reminds me of my hometown and it also reflects many strengths. Things that are important to this composition are color, craftsmanship, and form. When working small, it is hard to capture details whilst also making things look realistic and to scale. I think it is impressive how simple and clean, yet detailed these buildings to look. The use of color lets the forms pop, and the layout creates a great and balanced composition.

Casabere says that he avoids the details that would “anthropomorphize” his models. In what ways is that evident here?
