I really like your idea here! I think this is a really unique take to the “montage” project, no one else really went in this direction and that’s one of the reasons I really like it! The more I zoom in the more I see the individual pieces that make up the whole image. I really like all the shades of blue, the colors are really warm and pleasing to look at. I know this must have taken a really long time to make! Overall really good job!
I really enjoy your concept, I think it’s extremely creative to make a self-portrait only using water. As claire said, the different shades of blue along with the varying textures make for a really compelling image. I think my favorite part is how you used a darker portion of water on her shoulder to emulate a seam of a sweater.
I really like the colors you chose for your montage. The shades of blue make it very interesting with the darker tones being more prominent. The textures really add something to the piece and make it more interesting. I like the single cloud in the bottom left hand color because it really balances the piece out.
The gradations and texture shifts add depth to your portrait and background. The sky water seems to recede and the sweater water has a quality like knit until you zoom in and see the ripples. Your use of negative space creates a good balance to the detail on the right. Milton Avery is an artist you might want to look at (not a photographer) who works with abstracting figures and landscape.
