The photograph by Henri Cartier-Bresson captures lovers atop of the Notre-Dame Cathedral and children looking at the city of Paris. The composition frames the people as the subjects of the image in the foreground with a stunning view of paris and the river as a background. Part of why I’m drawn to Bresson’s work is that he captures very candid moments that don’t exhibit people posing and sometimes subjects that aren’t even looking at the camera. This un-staged photograph captures a moment in time that the audience can appreciate as if they were there themselves.
