I chose Matthew Albanese to explore. His work is two part, there’s the act of creating the scene and the diorama aspect of it all, then the photographing his work. He is so creative in his tactics of how to get exact right textures and materials so that the scenes really do look real. the article said it was almost the opposite of a tilt shift lens to make the miniatures. His lighting and camera angles are all incredibly intentional to ensure the realism is portrayed. I think his work is exceptionally strong because these still dioramas are captured by still photography yet still have lots of movement in them.
