I believe this work was effective in communicating its message due to many reasons. First of all the teal highlight around Mr. Floyd depicts a supernatural and enlightened presence. Mr. Floyd is the center of attention and his image seems to pop out of the Mural. There is both sadness and hope for a better future in the eyes of Mr. Floyd.
This was a good example. In future posts quote briefly from the artist bio and cite the source to include it in your statement. Also, make your images linkable.
