This youtube tutorial is a very quick lesson on how to mask color. He takes one image of the car and background in all red and duplicates the layer. He allows for his layer of green to shine through just on the body of the car. He chooses the layer mask option at the bottom of the screen and fills it with black so everything is hidden. You select the brush tool and paint where you want the color for the layer to come through the final image. You can go in and edit the details of the picture to allow some of the background to show into the areas they should. For example, in this car demo he went in and painted the back window black so that they weren’t coming out green like the car body. This is a useful tutorial for me because I want to include some color in one of my black and white sculpture pictures. This masking tool will allow me to do so.
