Sally Mann’s photo of her children, two boys and one with bloody noose. this is a black and white photo, they look like twins, wearing the same outfit, the blood on the boy’s face makes him look scary and uncomfortable for the viewer. This work is very provocative for the society. However what she is documenting is just life of her child that happen to all of us, but no one really put it on the screen.
So the controversy is whether or not one would consider Sally Mann’s photography of her children to be exploitative. What are your thoughts?
