For this Photoshop tutorial, I learned how to make use of layer masks more. The layers tool is crucial for creating images like this. I learned how to manipulate the layers based on their mask and style. Making use of overlay can have a huge affect on making two images come together. Also, I decided to try new things along with the things in this video, which included the magic wand and selection tools.

Mapplethorpe’s caused quite an uproar in the world of photography. Protagonists would uphold the idea that freedom of speech applies to photography as well. Not only was he using his own freedom, but he was also voicing for thousands of people on the topic of human rights regarding homosexuality. The jury’s ahead of his trial were aware of that.
On the other hand, it was pointed out that his photos were seen as obscene by a majority of the public, and as a result, should not be publicized due its immorality.
