Photographer Wang Qingsong staged this soundstage to portray the same imagery he recalls from the Cultural Revolution in China. They had massive walls covered with propaganda and so he made posters with large corporations’ logos. His visual is a critique of the influence Western consumerism has had on China and how the looming presence of these corporations has almost overwhelmed society. He stands in his own image with a megaphone.
