“Hairdresser on East 4th”

I took this photo at night when I was walking along 4th street. I wanted to get the sign in the photo and originally planned on trying to get the whole logo of the store in it but I decided I liked the look of it better when it was cropped. I wanted the store to be in focus and I wanted the colors to really be prominent in the photo because I liked the bright red of the blow driers and thought the green patterned chair covers are unique and old fashioned.

“FunHouse”

I also took this photo at night on fourth street outside of Fun House. I was trying to get the light casting down on the two women on an otherwise pretty dark street.

“Overpass”

I took this picture on New Street and the picture is off the overpass walk way that connects the parking garage to the building structure. I liked how the sunset silhouetted the person walking. I also was trying to get the person centered in the picture so they were the main focus of the image and are framed by the other structures in the image.

  1. I really like the photo of the store sign, the lighting is very dramatic and interesting. The back of those two passerby adds story to this photo. The composition you choose gives a sense of depth of filed.

  2. I really like your photos. I think you do a good job of cropping and zooming in on your subjects. I particularly like your use of light in the first one. Without it being clear I can tell that it is nighttime which is interesting to me.
