The Motion of Light in Water, Raimon Camprubi

This photo from Raimon Camprubi shows a puddle of water with the reflection of a Spanish building along with a blurry background of the ground and the boots of a person walking. The reflection of the building is crisply in focus but the water looks very smooth, almost making the puddle look like a mirror. I think the way in which the reflection is in focus but the water is blurred, especially at the edges of the puddle, and the way the person walking is blurred give the viewer a really interesting perspective. This photo almost makes the viewer have to really pause and take everything in because it isn’t inherently logical what is going on in this photo until one really gets a minute to look at it. It is uncommon to see such a crisp photo of a reflection of a building in a puddle, that is almost unrecognizable because of how smooth the water looks, while the rest of the photo is also blurred. I also really enjoy the colors in this photo. The yellow of the boots bring out the slight yellow on the ground and it is of a very similar tone of the colors of the building in the reflection.
