Jerry Uelsmann Montage

I chose to demonstrate the composition of Jerry Uelsmann found on the timeline in 1967 because his work is quite inspirational in light of creating my own montage. His work is known to be highly complicated and surreal, especially considering this one with a floating tree that may have been pulled out of the ground. When we view his images, we think about this imaginary world that can some sort of an impact on one’s thoughts. I look at the composition of this and I correlate it to dreams that I have of imaginary scenarios that can appear frightening or simply magnificent. The focal point is clearly the tree in this however, in the image we have another floating tree in the background, which drags our eyes to the beauty of the landscape image placed in the background. I want to begin my montage by focusing on this idea of surrealism.
