Maggie Taylor, The experience 2005

I chose this photo by Maggie Taylor because it very much intrigued me. There is a glowing woman in the center wearing a very interesting green hat on her head. Giant butterflies are coming from the left corner and get smaller as they reach across the image. The butterflies seem attracted to the woman and surround her body. They go around her torso and up her right arm. Each butterfly is a different color and pattern. The background is a green landscape with symmetrical trees going from the left to the right. The sky is mixture of green, white, orange, blue and pink. There are glowing white pieces that look like stars in the sky. The whole image has a very magical and fantasy feel to it. The woman is in the center of the photo and contrasts well against the foreground, background and the butterflies. Maggie uses Adobe Photoshop to create three-dimensional collages which she then photographs. This image is both surreal and intriguing.
