Tilt Shift Photography:

This image could have been taken with an expensive lease that would allow for the life sized objects to look smaller, or there is a procedure in photoshop. Either way the image must be taken from a higher distance from above not directly. More simple scenes are better to use than complex ones, There has to be good lighting. Wide shots should generally be avoided. All these techniques were applied in the making of this image. Tilt shift treatment can be applied in adobe photoshop. you create a mask, and the mask remains in focus.
