Georgia O’Keeffe — Neck, 1921
A quality that drew me to this photograph is the up close and low contrast capture of this woman’s neck. I think it is very interesting how every detail is very clear to viewers. After looking at it one can notice the detail in the fingers, the jawline, ear, and mouth. The second thing that drew me to the photograph us that this photo is of Georgia O’Keefe who is one of my favorite artists. It is interesting to consider these artists collaborating.
This photograph is relevant to a digital artist because of the amount of detail that was achievable with film photography. Digital artists should be inspired by this composition and work to take photos like this.
I agree, the details are there, yet the focus is soft and the cropping makes the composition.
