Miniatures: Slinkachu

I chose the artist Slinkachu and a piece in their series titled “Little People Left in the City to Fend For Themselves”. I love this series because he mixes items that are normal sized with miniature characters, creating this “shrunken down” feeling. What makes this series my favorite is the fact that they take the up-close image where you can see the miniatures on the miniature’s scale and then they also include an image taken far away, at what would be the normal scale. It makes it seem like these little miniature events could be happening around any corner if you just pay enough attention. I also chose this image because I think it is comical that the children are exploring this tossed to the side cigarette container; it takes “exploring drugs” to a new meaning.

  1. What did the other artists do with the miniatures? I also enjoyed seeing the image from two viewpoints, the samll world and the hidden, forgotten world.
