Kerem, Tabletop

Photograph Miniatures

Lorri and Kathleen’s work on tabletop photography are aligned with the notions of this specific category. It is quite often referred to as labor intensive by photographers. It takes time to not only create the piece itself but to muster inspiration, purchase materials, and sketch out a draft in order to get a better grasp of what is actually being crafted. Furthermore, Tabletop photography has its key aspects. L and K go along with these aspects throughout their whole process. In tabletop photography, the photographer is in command of everything that happens, including the subjects presented in specific positioning, the additional printing techniques, and also the lighting fixtures. Lighting plays an immense role in setting the stage for tabletop photography, and L and K did a successful job in this photo, setting a theme of beauty in color with contributing aspects such as the sky with fluffy clouds, the precise and smooth reflection, and the consistency of green in the plants circulating around other subjects, giving them a sense of positioning.

  1. What are the common elements in the Empire Collection? What are the “key aspects” of tabletop photography that you see in this work?
