Eugene Smith was an American photographer who spent three years in Japan capturing photos for his case study. In the photo above we can see a mother holding her deformed daughter in the bath. The daughter’s heath repercussions were caused by a chemical factories improper waste disposal. This photo does a nice job of bringing light to this issue. Additionally, Smith published it along with an essay highlighting the disease in Life magazine, making it clear to the world the impact unethical corporations could have on you and your loved ones.
