Tilt Shift, Miniatures

Shapiro, Mitchell | SF City Hall (TILT)

I chose this piece of art because of how real it was. If I was not informed that it is a tilt shift, I would definitely categorize it as the a great photograph of San Francisco City Hall at night. I think the techniques that the author used contributed to the effect of the work. Mitchell intentionally blurred the foreground and focused only on the City Hall in the center. He also increased the overall saturation and lighted up streets and buildings. The blurred neon lights and the over-exposed streets further strengthen his effort.
