Man sitting on beach was taken by photographer Leonard Freed in 2002. It depicts an older gentleman sitting alone on the sand near the water, soaking in the sun on a clear summer day. He has sand on his back suggesting he recently sat upright prior to laying down on the sand. I was drawn to this photograph because it ties in perfectly with exhibition’s theme of wellness. The man looks comfortable, enjoying the warmth of the sun. People take care of themselves and destress in different ways, this image perfectly captures this one unnamed individual relaxing and enjoying himself.
